Frequently asked questions
A few answers before your first hello.
The basics of getting started, keeping your number, and putting AnswerCraft within easy reach.

What does AnswerCraft do?
It helps handle calls you cannot take through custom voicemail or an AI receptionist. Callers can share useful details for you to review and follow up on. See how it works.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. AnswerCraft is in private beta, so start by requesting access. Once invited, follow the account setup instructions you receive. Existing beta customers can sign in to the customer portal.
Can I keep my current phone number?
Yes, the intended setup uses your existing number and carrier missed-call forwarding. Availability and activation steps depend on your carrier, device, and plan. Follow the instructions shown in your portal and test the connection.
Will my phone still ring?
The missed-call setup is designed to let your phone ring normally first. Calls you do not answer can then be forwarded to AnswerCraft. Busy and unreachable forwarding may require additional carrier-specific setup.
What is the difference between voicemail and the AI receptionist?
Custom voicemail plays your greeting and records the caller's message. The AI receptionist asks your chosen questions and saves the caller's answers for review. Compare the two experiences.
Is it in the App Store?
AnswerCraft currently works through your browser. You can add the customer portal to your Home Screen for convenient access without an App Store download. Follow the iPhone or Android steps.
Does scanning the QR code install it?
No. The QR opens the phone setup page. Open the actual customer portal in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android, add it to your Home Screen, then open the icon to sign in and set up the app. Follow the separate iPhone and Android steps on the Phone Setup page.
Does adding the Home Screen icon connect my calls?
No. The icon gives you easy access to AnswerCraft. To connect missed calls, follow the separate carrier instructions inside your account, then place a test call from another phone.
Where do I sign in?
Use answercraftai.com/login. This is the official AnswerCraft onboarding and customer-login address.
Does AnswerCraft block every spam call?
No. A caller who is asked to provide details may drop off, and the collected information may help you distinguish useful enquiries from unwanted calls. It is not a guarantee that spam will be blocked or that every lead will be identified correctly.
Can it book jobs or promise estimates for me?
The experience described here collects messages and enquiry details. You handle callbacks, estimates, scheduling, and commitments to customers.
Can I make the greeting and questions fit my trade?
Yes. You choose your greeting and voice. With the AI receptionist, you also select the questions callers are asked. A painting business might ask about rooms and surfaces; a landscape designer might ask about planting or outdoor living plans. See an example setup.
What information should I ask a new client for?
Start with a name, callback number, property location, and a short description of the work. Choose questions that help you prepare for the next conversation. You can discuss the finer details, pricing and appointment options together when you follow up.
What if a caller does not leave all the details?
Sometimes a caller shares only a few details, or leaves without a message. If contact information is available, you can follow up and gently clarify anything they have not shared.
Where can I get help connecting my number?
Begin with the connection instructions inside your account. If the test call does not reach your greeting, the Help Center troubleshooting guide can help you identify the next step. Your carrier may need to check forwarding availability on your line.
Is AnswerCraft still in beta?
Yes, it is currently in private beta. The experience is still being refined. Check the current information in the portal for account-specific availability or any terms before proceeding.
